THE QUESTION
How many ways can you paint your apartment?
You are one of the winners in Wal-Mart's Free Paint Promotion Contest.
You will be given enough paint to cover four rooms of your apartment.
You may paint each room with only one color based on these criteria:
- If N is the number of letters in your first name, then N is the number of colors you may choose from to paint your bedroom.
- If M is the number of letters in your middle name, then M is the number of colors you may choose from to paint your bathroom.
- If you have no middle name, then M is the number of letters in the month you were born.
- If L is the number of letters in your last name, then L is the number of colors you may choose from to paint your living room.
- If K is the number of letters in the day of the week you were born, then K is the number of colors you may choose from to paint your kitchen.
- If you do not know the day of the week you were born,
find out at Paul's Birthday Calculator.
